We had been looking for a new dog for several weeks before inadvertently getting in touch with Dalmatian Rescue. Through an ad in the Denver Post, I was connected with a Dal foster home and through them I was put in touch with Debbie Purfurst. Debbie and her husband Mark were just about to move Sebastian from Broadview Kennels to the Rocky Mountain Humane Society (there were no foster spaces available at that time) and offered to bring him by our house to meet me and our two boys. This was a critical meeting, since our boys were 10 years old and 4 months old. We needed an older dog who was good with both older children and babies. Not an easy dog to find, but Debbie thought this might just be our dog. |

Sebastian came over the next day with Mark. He was very excited to give our home the once and then the twice over. He took an immediate liking to both Luke and Sev, and made himself right at home. Later that evening Sebastian showed us that he was plenty ready for his new duties as well, barking at everyone who came to our door. Sebastian loves to sleep on the furniture and hates to be left alone. He'd love to sleep in Luke's room but his dog crate keeps him off the couches and in his very own space. He loves to go on walks and car rides, and joins us for family events and soccer games. He's very friendly and loads on the kisses. Sebastian is Luke's constant companion upon his return home from school, and with Sev at the same height as Sebastian's tongue, Sebastian enjoys whatever remains of Sev's last meal. |
| While we've all grown quite attached to our freckled friend, Luke says it best "Sebastian's the best dog a boy could ever have!" | |
Thanks Dalmatian Rescue!
Sincerely,
Laurel, Ted, Luke & Sev
