We will be the first to admit that we were always wary of adopting an older dog. We thought the only way we could wind up with a good dog was to raise one from a puppy. on the other hand, we found ourselves shying away from dog ownership because of the responsibility puppy requires. We had looked into several breeds of dogs, but found ourselves continually attracted to Dalmatians because they are so loyal and beautiful. When we saw Mocha on the Dalmatian Rescue web site, we were immediately interested because of her size and color. We realized that we really missed living with a dog. it had been a year and a half since our Dalmatian had died and we were yearning for that companionship again. When we finally met Mocha we fell in love, she was one of the most loving Dals we had ever seen. We've had her for several weeks now and she has far surpassed our expectations. She is wonderful with our granddaughter, rides well in the car, is crate trained and is catching on quickly to simple commands. it was nice to skip the "puppy stuff" and we have found adopting an older dog an extremely positive experience. She is wonderful and we think she is pretty happy with us too! Thank you Dalmatian Rescue for allowing this sweet, amber eyed, liver spotted clown to become part of our lives. Jeff and Vickie |
