I once lived in a dog shelter but now I live in a two-story house with a big yard. I get to go on lots of walks with my mom and dad. They take really good care of me. I have a bed and a crate to live in. I love my mom and dad a lot and it makes me sad when they have to leave me. I'm trying to get accustomed to their coming and going.

We've been going to a lot of places since I moved into my new home. My mom and dad take me to Petsmart and Petco all the time. If I'm really good, I get to pick out a new toy. I really like all the attention I get when I'm out in public. All kinds of people like to come up and pet me. I also like getting to meet other dogs.

My mom and dad had plans for me like running in races with them, which I have accomplished.  But, I had plans for my mom and dad.  I wanted to become a Registered Therapy Dog.  When I first met my mom and dad they weren’t too familiar with this type of work.  I had to introduce it to them by going up to strangers and letting them pet me.  When mommy took me to obedience school the instructor told her that I would make a good therapy dog.  Others had told her this as well.  Well, mommy called a tester with Therapy Dogs Inc. and they set up a mutual time for us to meet.  The tester was very impressed with me.  He even had me meet his dog to see how I would react.  I did fine because I love people and dogs.  Mommy and me then had to be tested 3 different times at the nursing center that I was going to work at.  Well, I passed with flying colors.  The tester was very impressed with my therapy abilities and I am now a Registered Therapy Dog with Therapy Dogs Inc.  I have been doing therapy work since May of this year.   I am very proud of myself and I even get to wear a dog tag that says, “I am a therapy dog”.  It’s a great honor for me to help others, just like how Dalmatian Rescue does for us dogs by placing us in good homes.

I really appreciate all the help that the Dalmatian Rescue provided me in finding my new home. I feel like the luckiest dog in the world! Thank you Aunt Beth.

Lots of dog kisses to everyone,

Pepper
