Smokey

First, there was Sparky, then there was Sasha, then Simon, and now there is SMOKEY.  He comes from a litter of eleven puppies. His owners put this precious gift from God in a shelter because he did not sell as the other puppies did. Beth White from Dalmatian Rescue took him home, gave him plenty of love, cared for his broken heart and then found him a family who would never throw him away like yesterdays trash. That is where we come into the story. My husband, who I call old softy, saw a picture of Smokey on the Internet and had to have him.

The first night that Smokey was introduced to his new home he followed George from room to room, but that was short lived. Today Smokey is super glued to my hip. All of our dogs escort me everywhere I go, when I come out of the shower one always offers me a towel. You get the picture; the dogs offer licks, head bumps, towels and Elvis looks. I think an Elvis look is how dogs smile.

Here we see Smokey meeting Simon, Smokey taking Simon’s toy, and Simon taking the toy back. A tug of war commences, Simon's stuffed toy is now in shreds and stuffing is all over the floor. This mess is what I expect to find every morning when I get up and getting mad is not an option. My job is to clean up the mess; my husband’s job is to bring home more stuffed toys for the dogs to dismember. What can I do dismember my husband? I think not--- just look at those faces including my husbands…they are so cute! How could I get mad--- I just deal with it.  Thank you Dalmatian Rescue for bringing this holy terror into our lives!
