We love our little Carter & Maggie! Carter came to live with us almost two years ago. At the time we had an older Goldie for him to keep company. As she got older, he was lonesome. We started looking for a sister for him, and we found Maggie. She came to live with us last January and has been a joy. Carter as a good big brother should, looks out for her. They have a large dog run, about ¼ acre. Our yard is 6 acres, and they love to run around on it.
With three teenagers in our home, there’s always someone home to love on them. Carter and Maggie’s favorite people include a 13-year-old girl. She and her girl share a bed at night, and Maggie loves to snuggle up to her. One of the boys is a cross-country runner, and takes Maggie for a run, Carter does the cool down, since he’s 5 or so and can’t keep up on the long run. The other boy is in the army, he can’t wait to come home and see his Maggie girl. She likes to sit in his lap and watch TV. They also go and keep the kids company on their beds while they do their homework. When the puppies are out in the dog run, if we go out on the deck, they know they get a roll. Carter will see us, and jump for joy! He literally jumps up and down on his hind legs. He smiles all the while he is jumping up and down! Maggie can jump higher than any dog I have ever seen! I know if she wanted to, she could easily get the bones off of the top of the fridge! She jumps higher than the dog on Fraiser! When we first met Maggie, she was a bit shy. What “sold” us on Maggie, besides how adorable she is, was she chased the reflection off our watch. We have always called this reflection a wood sprite. She knows this comes from a reflection and the flashlight. By the back door we have a flashlight, and when she wants to play Wood sprite, she stares at the flashlight. Usually her girl is more than willing to play this game. Maggie is such a wonderful smart little girl, and we adore her. Thank you for giving our “puppies” the chance to brighten up our lives! We can’t imagine not having our two “puppies” around. They play so well together, and love each other. I know they would be lonesome with out each other, as we would be lonesome without them. Sheri |
