We had been looking for a young Dalmatian to
join our nine year old Dal that we adore.
Circe was found in
Phoenix
stray and starved when she was about 11 weeks old.
After no one claimed her, she was driven to
Colorado
where we were eager to meet her. After seeing her interaction with the
many Dalmatians at Beth’s, we brought her home to meet her new best.
Derek thought Circe’s given name “Princess Pepper Pot” was
a bit too feminine and he quickly changed it to Circe – after the
mischievous Greek Goddess. Being
an English teacher, Derek was able to stay home all summer with Circe as
she adjusted to her new life. Circe
quickly gained weight and is finally not such a ravenous little puppy!
She enjoys daily walks, including many short hikes in the
mountains but her favorite part of the day is her daily visit to the
neighborhood leash-free dog park, where she has finally learned to
“come.” She was too
skinny to be spayed before the adoption but she has since been spayed
and returned to her playful puppy ways.
Circe graduated top of her puppy kindergarten class and looks
forward to her beginner training class to start within the next few
months. We often
wonder what the first few weeks of her life entailed but we feel so
blessed to include her in our family -- thank you Dalmatian Rescue.
We look forward to fostering and adopting from the Dalmatian
Rescue once we have more living space!
