We adopted "Duncan", aka “Bum” in Oct 2008. We nicknamed him Bum. Why you may ask? If you leave anything alone for a second, it becomes his, and then gone. Duncan is a huge joy in my life. We moved here about 3 years, from Michigan. I had to put my older dog Pigmy down due to ill health. It broke all our hearts. Pigmy was a HUGE part of our lives. When we moved here we rented for 2 ½ years. Were we could not have a dog. This was very hard for my family. But gave us time to get over our loss of Pigmy. We have never gone without a dog before. We were moving to a place were we could have a dog. The search was begun before, we moved in to our home. I work a lot with the deaf community. And a friend of mine had a Dalmatian that was deaf. We fell in love with the breed. I saw Duncan online and fell in love with him immediately. Who wouldn’t love that face. I showed my husband Duncan’s face online and he was all for going and meeting him. Which unknown to him, I had already done. We fell in love and wanted him to be part of our family. Duncan is a very busy dog. He loves walks to the lake, watching, and trying to get the birds. Playing with all his toys, tearing apart stuffed animals, and tug of war is his favorite. Duncan is spoiled with tons of love and good friends. I have attached a couple of new pictures. Duncan has gown to be quite a beauiful dog. He is so cute, he turn heads. When people see him in the car, on his way to the dog park, the have to look. Kids talk to him when at lights. I have even had people ask me questions when we are stoped. He always get a treat at the drive thrus. People love to touch and love on him. We are so happy he is such a well loved dog. Our family just loves to have him home with us. Many have asked us were they can get a dog like him. I give them the website tell them to research the breed and talk with Beth. I only hope they follow through. Dee E. |
