Lily (Chica) has been happily with me for 6 weeks now. She is a very smart and happy girl with a lot of zest for life. When Lily was first fostered by the Dalmatian Rescue, she was only 3 weeks old and found all alone on the side of a busy road in New Mexico. She had fleas and kennel cough also. Poor girl. However, the generous people of Dal Rescue brought her to Fort Collins and as soon as she was listed on the site I knew that she had to be mine! I had been looking for the perfect Dalmatian for about 6 months at the time. I had recently graduated from college and could not wait for the opportunity to have a dog at my house again. When I left for college I had to leave my baby Brooklyn, also a Dal mix, at home with my family. I missed her so much that I could not stand to live another minute without a dog. When I met Lily in person, it was love at first sight. Her foster family liked to call her “Piranha” but I knew that she would grow out of biting, and be the companion that I had always dreamed of. Since the night that I picked her up at the end of July, we have spent practically every minute together. We have gone to class, the vet, and on road trips. Lily has a bit of an overbite, which looks a bit goofy but does not harm her in anyway. She can sit, lay down, shake, and almost roll-over! She is growing very quickly and loves her mom sooooo much. I can't even imagine what my life would be like without her in it! Thanks so much for everything that you do Dal Rescue! Lauren L. |
