What a difference a little TLC makes. When we first saw Rocky he was filthy, timid, scared and very emaciated. He did not bark or play or even wag his tail. Beth had named him Ranger but as soon as we saw him, his beat up face and 1/2 torn ear we knew his name should be ROCKY because he was a survivor! The ride home was interesting as we had to stop every 30 minutes and rode home 2 hours with the windows down (in the middle of winter) because he smelled so bad. He happily jumped into the shower for a bath and then was so exhausted that he snuggled up and slept for days. The vet was quite surprised by the poor shape he was in when he went to see them the next day. He was put on antibiotics and a special diet for weight gain.
Rocky has now gained 10 pounds and is playful like a pup at times. He has bonded with his 2 younger sisters. Lacy, a Dalmatian, and Gracie, the cat. He loves to play with his rope and bark and howl while chasing you around the house. His appearance has changed drastically as his scars are beginning to fill in with soft hair. He is a completely different dog than he was just 6 weeks ago. Rocky can sit and shake and he meets you with a smile every morning. It has been a wonderful experience to watch him heal and develop into a great companion.
