Hi, my name is Willie. I was adopted by Jean and George in March, after they had to say their forever ‘good-byes’ to Chester (Dalmatian rescue,1989) on Christmas Eve. I’m not sure I ever made it to the Dalmatian Rescue site because when Beth mentioned me to Jean and George they went to visit me at my adoptive mom, Aaren. When they got there, I became really sick and Aaren took me to the vet to find out I had bacteria meningitis, perhaps from the shelter. At the end of the week, I was feeling better and Jean and George came to take me home. I love my new home and all the neighbor dogs. I have completed two obedience classes which have helped me to socialize and learn some much needed commands which I do when I feel like it. Actually, my obedience teacher said that I made the most gains and would be a fabulous dog. :))
The best part of being with Jean and George is going to the cabin in the mountains where I discovered water. I love to jump into the pond and run up and down the streams. And, I learned that there are many chipmunks that invade the property, so I have to be most vigilant in looking for them. Actually, Tug, my cousin (by marriage) a 100 lb yellow lab taught me about rodents and how prevalent they are in yards and trees. My other favorite places are the two parks near our house and Cherry Creek State Park where I love to run with other dogs and play in the water. I am very happy that they found me and I have a place to feel safe and loved.
I am grateful to Beth, Aaren and the Dalmatian Rescue organization which provides an excellent ‘search’ and ‘rescue’ for spotty bodies like me.
