Butters

Butters
My parents had achy hearts after losing two special Dalmatians in one year. They found me on the website and came to pick me shortly after. I was old and chubby and had a large fatty tumor on my side. I couldn’t hear and my eyesight wasn’t the best. I had already outlived two owners.

Shortly after adopting me, they took me on a long car ride to a very cold, windy place with white stuff on the ground called snow. I was mad! I did

not want to go out in the cold and I certainly was not letting my feet touch the snow! My parents had a house with slippery wood floors and I had a hard time staying on my feet. Things were very hard for me at first. I was out-of-shape and didn’t like to go for walks. Every day my mom would grab a treat and I would chase her up and down the long hallway until I was out of breath. She said this was exercise, but I hate exercise! I guess she tricked me because I lost 20 pounds!

I know my mom and dad love me very much and I am happy to have 2 doggie siblings and lots of toys to play with. I love to snuggle and have many big, cozy beds to nap away my retirement years. My parents say I am sweet and gentle. I like to make them laugh with my stubborn personality.

Wilbur
(aka Kilmer)

My name is Wilbur (aka Earl, Kilmer). I came from the shelter in Kileen, TX when I was just a puppy and lived with my foster mommy, Patsy for a few months. I was very sick with something called kennel cough, and had to stay in a room all by myself for a long time. Finally the day came when I was better and I was so excited to be out! In fact, my new mommy came over with Butters and I got a little too excited and jumped all over him! When he wouldn’t play, I would bite at his feet. My mommy said I was too rough. Thankfully my foster mommy and Beth talked my new mommy into another visit. I tried really hard to be good and soon I
Wilbur

got new pajamas and a new bed for a sleepover. I snuggled a lot and was on my best behavior. It worked because I was soon adopted!

My mom wanted me to be a good boy and we worked hard every day on learning how. We even went to school with other dogs. I guess I am pretty smart, because I earned something called “Canine Good Citizen” and also a novice title in AKC Rally. Next, mom says we are going to earn a title in agility. I am so excited because I love being fast and doing tricks! I have also recently been asked to be the fire station mascot. I am so excited! I love it when kids pet me.

My parents are so proud of me and say that I am the best dog in the world, even though I had big shoes to fill. I know my parents are very grateful to everyone who helped bring Butters and I into their lives (especially Jen Miller, George Grammas, Patsy Perkins, and Beth White). I am thankful too and am so happy that you saved me and the lives of my spotted friends.
