Just wanted to pass along our Happy Beginnings Story. We adopted Cleo in May of 2009 after receiving a referral from Beth White who knew of a Dal in Oregon who needed a new home. We met with the former owner, who was recently divorced and wanted a good home for Cleo and decided to adopt her. After a few 'trying times' and a very long pep talk phone conversation with Beth about Cleo establishing er pecking order with our other two Dals, everything settled down and the three are now good friends. Our other two Dals are retired show dogs and my husband wanted to keep them active so he began training them in obedience competitions a few years ago. He's gotten Obedience and Rally titles on them and then began training Cleo, who barely knew the word "sit". Well, as you can see by the picture, she's done very well and we are very proud of her. She got her first title, Rally Novice B, in three consecutive tries, for her first leg in Shelton, WA in September and finishing in her two next shows at Puyallup, WA in January of this year (2011). These are the first dog shows she has ever attended! We appreciate all the work you do for the Dals and wanted to let you know our story. Ginny and Jerry S. |
