Madison
(aka Ida)

Madison

In the summer of 2009, my husband Steve and I visited the Fort Collins Dalmatian Rescue looking to adopt a dog after loosing our third Dalmatian, a year prior, from old age health complications. We happened to be there just after a litter of pups had been brought there since being rescued in Las Cruces, N.M. Needless to say, we fell instantly in love with them all. We did want a female Dal since we had five other dogs at home and felt it would mesh better into the pack.

We were let into the pen and were introduced to the pups. All the pups were beautiful, fiesty and friendly, but one in particular seemed to come back to us after all the others had visited and left. Her name was Ida. We knew at that moment that she was the pup that we wanted to welcome into our home! After going through the adoption process and home visitation, she was able to come live with us in August. We named her Madison.

Madison is a joy! She has fit in so well to our family including three Jack Russells, a weiner dog and her very best friend, another rescue from Colorado, Clairice, who is a mutt. The two of them are like Mutt and Jeff, salt and pepper, etc. Truly, the Odd Couple! We laugh at them all the time, the way they play and interact.

Madison is funny, loving and so full of energy. She loves to run and dig on our land, likes to go for walks, and loves to go for car rides and sits in the front seat, right next to the driver, like a high school girl sitting next to her high school boyfriend. She always has to be carrying something in her mouth! What an addition to the family she is! We are so grateful that we happened to be at the Fort Collins Dal Rescue when we were; although we really do believe that things are meant to be and this was one of those moments in life!!!!

Thank you so much to the rescue organization for the work you do and for bringing us all together!!!!
