Chief

My name is Chief and I recently immigrated to Vancouver Island Canada. I lived in several homes in the past and am not sure why they kept dumping me at shelters. My new mom drove down and picked me up from my foster parents in Portland Oregon who rescued me from a shelter the day before my life was going to end. I really like my new home. I have a little brother who is a large chihuahua named Diesel, he loves me and follows me everywhere, even snuggles with me on the bed. I get to sleep with my big sister Erin who's a human, at night on her bed.

My mom took me to the vet right away because I have a badly swollen ankle and it hurts when I run. It's been swollen for months. The vet took an XRay and it's broken so I have a cast, but if it doesn't heal I will need a plate and screws. My mom works in orthopaedics so she knows lot's about bones and will take good care of me. There are lot's of off leash trails in the forest right behind my new house and many beaches to play on here, this island life is great. Today we went in the canoe to a small island and I got to roam free like the wind. Diesel showed me the way on the trails, he's in super good shape and can run really fast....and oh there were so many things to smell on the beach. I do like the beach and hopping over the waves when they come in. I am not so sure about that canoe thing though, I was a little nervous and mom told me I had to sit still or we would all be going for a swim.

I am going to have so many adventures here. Mom says when my ankle is all better we can go for longer hikes, and she promised me I never have to go to another shelter.
