It's November now just before Thanksgiving 2010, Sadie now lives in Kuna, Idaho. Sadie is a 5 year old Dalmatian that came from San Antonio, Texas. Sadie's new beginning will start with the end... what I mean by that is she no longer will need to find a family. Her search for a family has ended here with us in Idaho. Before Sadie came along our family consisted of two little old Dachshunds, our kids Asa & Bailey, myself Kalani and my husband Ruel. We searched for months then finally contacted Dalmatian Rescue of Colorado. This is where we met Beth, she was so helpful and she knew she would help us find the perfect baby for our family. Then she told me about Sadie. In many emails I would tell her about the Dalmatian I had many years ago and how I would like to find one just like her. She would need to get along with my little Doxies and enjoy playing or going walking. So, when she told me about Sadie and how she thought this sweet girl might be the one for us I had to speak with her foster dad. His name was Ross, he took really good care of Sadie. He told me all about her, how sweet she is, how he cares for her and the things she does. I knew she would work out great. We don't know anything about her past, only the time spent with Ross. So, we arranged for her to be sent home. We waited at cargo a half hour early in anticipation. My husband was gone for work, so the kids and I picked her up. As soon as we saw her crate coming toward us we started calling her name, we could see her tail wagging. We didn't want her to wait in the crate longer than she had too. We got her out and she started licking our faces and her tail never stopped since we picked her up. She sat patiently between the kids in the backseat on the way home. She's a wonderful dog!! Her introduction with the girls went well. I did it with one dog at a time. My old lady first, then Ashley. She and Ashley play a lot. But she doesn't want Ashley by me, she gets a little jealous. It's okay though, Ashley is a little pushy so Sadie is just what she needs. LOL. They run around playing 'catch-me-if-you-can', then Ash will roll over wagging her tail. Their play goes on and on. She seems to like the squeaky toys we have, we'll throw it and she'll bring it back. It gets pretty noisy, Daisy, the older Doxie, kept barking with all the excitement while they were all playing. What fun!! :) It was a great introduction, they are all happy including the kids. There are little things I learned from her in a short time. She likes to sit next to you on the couch, she smacks her mouth when she wants something to eat, and she makes a grunting noise when there's something she wants and not comfortable with. When it comes to food, she gets really excited!! She's very smart! Ross, thank you for all you have done for our Sadie!! We promise to love her and take good care of her! I appreciate all you have done, I cannot thank you enough. She is a lovely dog. Beth, thank you for all your help as well. Thank you for finding Sadie for me and helping me adopt her. :). We are very, very happy to have her!!! :). Mahalo & Aloha, |
