Jeter
(aka Grover)

Jeter

This is Jeter (originally called Grover). He is 8 years old and just about the sweetest boy you will ever find! In January, my husband and I were heartbroken when we lost our beloved Gabby due to renal failure. She was our first Dalmatian and after falling in love with her, we knew shoe wouldn't be our last. When I felt the time was right, I went searching for a breeder. Beth had heard that I was looking for a Dal and told me about her upcoming litter. I was so excited to be getting a puppy from Beth, I was like and expectant mother.

In February, Beth had contracted me again desperate to find a permanent or foster home for Jeter who was picked up as a stray in the Kansas City area. It was such a coincidence that I was going to be in Kansas City for a convention that weekend. I couldn't say no, and agreed to foster him. Beth's wonderful friends from Kansas City, Robin and Bob Painter, took care of Jeter until I was able to get there.

Once I got him to Nebraska and introduced him to my husband and Sunni, our 8 year old Yellow Lab, I was already getting attached to him. He immediately decided that he loved my husband and followed him everywhere, Sunni - not so much. She was not sure at first about a new dog since she was getting used to having us all to herself. Once she saw that he also liked to chase squirrels, Sunni decided that he was OK! They love to run around in the yard together.

Needless to say, we fell in love with Jeter (named after our favorite NY Yankee) and decided he was the right fit for our family. Due to the restrictive pet laws in my city (allowing only 2 dogs) I had to forfeit the puppy. Although I was crushed about that, I knew there would be more puppies, but only one Jeter. He is such a happy boy, talks to us all of the time and loves to cuddle. We are pleased once again to have spots running around the house.
