I adopted “Sasha”, now “Pepper” May
24, 2004. She is a year and half and the love of my life. I made a
decision in January to find myself a dog and it wasn’t until May that
I found my Pepper. She came to me in pretty bad shape. Abused,
extremely shy, skittish and, come to find out just weeks later, she
had heartworm. We treated it immediately and I’m happy to report that
she is fully recovered and the happiest most healthy dog I could possibly
hope for. She didn’t know how to play. Didn’t like toys, and when I
threw a ball she just looked at me confused. Well, how a little
attention and affection goes a long way.....since adopting her, I’ve
taught her how to do many tricks, her favorite is “sitting pretty!”
She has also learned how to swim (see picture), fetch, and is getting
better with strangers. She especially likes going to grandma and grandpa’s
ranch in Wyoming where she can play with horses and her aunt Abby (a
four year-old chocolate lab). She comes to work with me everyday and
sleeps in her little bed by my feet and drinks from her Snoopy bowl. She
is spoiled, no doubt. Having her also inspired me to develop a comic
strip series, something I always dreamed of doing and not until I got
her, was I so sure of the character I wanted to create. Look for Peppy!,
(trademark and copyright applications have been submitted) coming to
locations near you soon. I want to thank the Dalmatian Rescue for helping me and Pepper find each other. She brings me so much happiness and for that, I’m forever grateful. Happy Day! |
