Strobe

Strobe was "liberated" by a kind neighbor from a very bad situation in New Mexico. She had been chained to a parked car without any shelter and was not being fed. We think she was probably hit by a car and was left to heal up on her own because her X-rays show all sorts of bone damage. Her rescuer took her to Bridging the Worlds, a New Mexico rescue group. They felt that it would be best for Strobe
to seek adoption elsewhere, given the circumstances of her rescue.
She hitched a ride with Carol, a Dalmatian Rescue volunteer, and Beth White suggested that we take her in as a foster dog.

The longer we had Strobe, the more we felt we could not do without her, so we violated our strict "no keeping the foster dogs" policy and told Beth she should just stay with us forever. Her injuries do not inhibit her favorite activity, squirrel chasing. This picture is a typical pose for Strobe as she tries to convince a squirrel to come down out of the tree to play. She is an avid snuggler, and the most affectionate dog we have ever known. It is hard to imagine how such a loving creature could be treated in such an awful way. It is our intention to make up for her previous bad treatment by smothering her with kindness until the end of her days.
