| Comments | Hello everyone, my name is Leah(Lee-a). My new nickname is Leilu. I am a Dalmatian who has lived on the planet for 12 years but is just now finding out what it means to be loved. Here is my story. I am a AKC papered girl but my breeder cared so little for me and my welfare that I was sold out of the back of a truck to a girl at a gas station. She dumped me on her father who didn't want a dog. That is where I stayed, without veterinarian care or any love until a good samaritan overheard him say he was going to shoot me. She contacted Dalmatian Rescue of New Mexico (too bad my dad didn't do that 12 years ago!) and here I am, now in Albuquerque. I came in with two abscessed teeth,18 extra pounds and a heavy fur coat from having to live outside during all those cold mountain days and nights. The teeth are pulled and cleaned, the diet is started, and I never have to live outside again! I will tell you, I really like sleeping on a soft pillow in a warm room. The vet says I am a super-healthy little girl. And now I am loved to pieces! My foster mom rubs my ears, my favorite thing. She takes me for walks with my two foster brothers, also Dallies, also my favorite thing. I get yummy food like Pumpkin and green beans along with NOT ENOUGH kibble and meat, that stinks!! but she tells me I will be even more spry and lively when I am svelt (rumors) and that the diet won't last forever (lies). I get to lie on a fluffy bed in front of the fire, my other also favorite thing, and sometimes she takes pity on me and gives me a bully stick to chew on. Life is good. But I would really like to have a forever family all of my own. My foster brothers say no matter how great the foster family is, a forever home and family take away all the worries. It is nice to belong. So if you can find a tiny spot to squeeze in a rapidly disappearing (and if you don't believe in diets, that's OK with me!) Dalmatian girl who would promise to love you to pieces for ever, call Dalmatian Rescue of New Mexico at 505-857-0012 or email me at cnspotz101@q.com. You can also submit an application from this site so I can come home with you! Love Leah. |
