It pains me to tell you that we lost Chaz whom you brought to Colorado from Garden City, KS for us. We had to put him down in late August after a urinary obstruction made it impossible for him to pee. The vet discovered when we took him in that he had been SHOT! Evidentally while he was running loose in Kansas someone hit him with a load of buckshot in his right rear. One of the pellets nicked his penile bone and calcified and created scar tissue until it finally blocked his urinary tract. The doctor tried to create a new channel, but it never really worked and after three weeks in the hospital, with him loosing weight and being on pain medication, we sent him on to join Echo and Shelby. The little "pitador:, Chaco, we got from Max Fund misses him like crazy. We loved him so much and miss him terribly. He was a wonderful, loving boy. He had a good life with us and got to go to the beach in Oregon twice and loved every minute of it. The day before we took him to the vet, we went up to timberline and let the boys run up and down the mountainsides and romp in the wildflowers. He had another great trip in July to the San Jaun mountains. The spring before last he got to go to the Gulf Coast and rife on a flat-bottomed boat through the marshes (leashed, I might add) and even got to see an alligator. I can't believe we only got to have him for six years. Losing Echo last fall and Chaz within the same year has been rough. Didn't expect it and wasn't ready for it. Cried a river... Thanks Beth, for all you do.. Rita & Dave |
