FOREST'S GOODBYE

My name is Forest and God's called me home for eternity,
He said "In Heaven's where you now need to be"
I was to join Him last February - but I said "I cannot leave"
And so with a loving heart he granted me a reprieve.
I went over the mountains, to Utah to live,
Both God and I knew, I still had love to give.
He sent me to a man named Tea, who was as a twin to my soul,
Together we thought we would both grow old.
We would listen to music, sometimes most the day long.
Tea even thought I was special enough he wrote me my own song.
Then we would take a break and take Tea's wheelchair for a ride.
And I would trot so proudly, happy to be by his side.
At times we went fishing down by the nearby lake,
Oh, what a great twosome we sure did make.
Never wanting to give up, never giving in.
Just dealing with what life gave us, so we would win.
Then I knew I was dying, the pain was getting bad.
Saying Good-bye is so hard, it make you oh so sad.
But for now I am in Heaven, with God I do dwell.
And when my best friend Tea gets here, all will be well.

Forest
Forest came to our house in February of 2010, out of the mountains of Colorado. He was nearly starved to death, could hardly walk, and had huge sores. It took a lot of loving care, but we got him back to health. Forest had so much love to share, he always wanted to be as close to you as he could get. We have never seen such a dog with determination to fight what life had thrown him. The determination that kept him alive through the winter in the mountains, also drove him in his day to day life... if he wanted to do something, it didn't matter what was in his way... he would go over, go under and squeeze through to get where he wanted to go (usually the music studio with his "Dad"). Then the Sunday before Thanksgiving of 2010, he appeared to have a stroke and couldn't do much after that no matter how he tried. He kept fighting to go on

until the very end. It was so hard to see, but we could not let him suffer, (we found our that he had a brain tumor), so after we had some family pictures taken, we put him to sleep.

Goodbye Forest, until we meet again, with lots of LOVE,
                                                                          Tea and An Cooper

(These pictures were taken of Forest by Rick Nye, Photographer, Orem, Utah, a few hours before we had to put Forest to sleep. Rick added the ray effect in the first picture, but when the picture got thru processing a aura had appeared... God sure works in mysterious ways.)
